INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

        A short program was also held at the Amlan Municipal Plaza on that day. Pastor Cobbie Palm of the S.U. Divinity School and Prof. Enrique Oracion, Sociology, S.U. were the guest speakers during said program.  The Youth Advocates on Theater Arts (YATA) were also present during said program to give intermission numbers.

The Municipality of Amlan joins in the commemoration of International Women’s Day last March 8, 2008.  One of the highlights of said celebration is the “Bike for a Cause” from the City of Dumaguete to the Municipality of Amlan which started at 7:00 a.m.  at the Capitol Area, Dumaguete City.  Said bicycle ride was participated in by the Negros Oriental Bikers Association in cooperation with Gender Watch against Violence and Exploitation (GWAVE), the Municipality of Amlan and the Amlan Mountain Bikers Association.
