DREAMLAND UNILAB FREE CLINIC

“UNILAB Medical Mission”

The Local Government Unit of Amlan “DREAMLAND” in partnership with UNILAB and KAWANIS International held a free clinic day at the Amlan gymnasium last March 25, 2011. The Municipality purchased a hundred thousand worth of medicine from UNILAB and the UNILAB Company donated more or less than two hundred thousand worth of medical supplies to be given to the townsfolk of Amlan who will be seeking for medical assistance.

The UNILAB Company was represented by Mr. Rubinstein Rubio, a native from Dauin who is presently the organizer of the different UNILAB outreach activities and the administrator of the distribution of UNILAB medical supplies in the Island of Negros Oriental and Siquijor. UNILAB is unique from other pharmaceutical companies because it is dedicated to serve people as part of their social responsibility to the community.

KAWANIS International Organization, a non-government organization which has been the partner of UNILAB Company for many years now in doing outreach programs and activities was represented by Mr. Llyod Tenaja. The main concern of the organization is mobilization and crowd control. Mr. Llyod Tenaja is a KAWANIS International volunteer, a former president of KAWANIS International and is also the proprietor of Tenaja construction. Mr. Rubinstein Rubio himself was a former KAWANIS International president in Dumaguete City as well.

The Mayor of Amlan has very active to the service of the Amlanganons. The UNILAB organizer and administrator in the whole island of Negros Oriental and Siquijor Island, Mr. Rubenstein Rubio later revealed that the project was discussed over a little can of beer. The entire activity was a major success through the efforts of Mayor Bentham de la Cruz-Mayor of Amlan, the Municipal Health Unit, Physicians, the UNILAB Company and the KAWANIS International-Non-Government Organization.
